On February 11, the Abílio Duarte Secondary School in Palmarejo hosted an important talk on Safer Internet Day, organized by the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy (ARME). The theme of the event was “Navigating with Awareness: Internet, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Digital Future” and its aim was to make 10th, 11th and 12th grade students aware of the challenges and risks of online browsing today.
The University of Cape Verde (UNICV), represented by the coordinator of the RS²LAB Laboratory and a group of members of the institution, was present at the event to contribute to the initiative. Professor Arlindo was one of the speakers, sharing valuable insights into the importance of digital security and the impacts of AI on everyday life.
In addition to the lecture, the UNICV team gave a practical demonstration of robotics and automation models.
