Two products developed at RS2Lab were distinguished at the 2025 edition of the Digital Awards Cabo Verde, reinforcing RS2Lab’s role in research and the development of digital solutions with national impact.
The project AgroPraga: Virtual Assistant, developed within the scope of the PhD program of ARISE-PP fellow Olavo Teixeira, was the grand winner in the GreenTech / Digital Sustainability category.
AgroPraga is a virtual assistant based on Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, designed to support Cape Verdean farmers, particularly those with low levels of digital literacy. With a simple interface adapted to the local context, the solution facilitates access to information on agricultural pests and best practices, promoting more informed decision-making. Beyond its technological dimension, the project contributes to digital inclusion, farmer empowerment, and the development of more sustainable agriculture in Cape Verde.
Meanwhile, Kafuka, a project of the UNDP Accelerator Lab implemented at RS2Lab under the coordination of ARISE-PP Principal Investigator (PI), Professor Sónia Semedo, received an honorable mention in the category of University Innovation and Digital Inclusion.
During the ceremony, Professor Sónia Semedo took the stage to express gratitude for the partnership with UNDP and to pay tribute to the journey of Professor Olavo Teixeira, as a fellow integrated into the ARISE-PP project, funded by the European Union.
